Ismail Fayed

Ismail fayed is a writer, critic, educator and dramaturg living in Cairo. He has worked with key regional institutions and platforms (Mada Masr, Townhouse Gallery, Contemporary Image Collective, Cairo Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences...etc) and internationally (The House of World Cultures, The Museum of Modern Art in New York,…etc). His interests span a broad range of contemporary artistic practices ranging from visual arts, to performing arts, to contemporary Arabic literature. In 2016 he co-founded the History and Cultural Memory Forum, a series of seminars and publications examining the realities of the Arab world post-2011. He was the associate editor for the MoMA's publication, Modern Art in the Arab World: Primary Documents (2018)  and has contributed to numerous publications such as ArteEast, Aperture, Nafas Art Magazine, Nachtkritik, Mada Masr, Ma3azef, Manshoor, among many others.
